Event Details and Outputs

We are organising a series of events in the Village Hall with plenty of opportunity to hear from Energy and Nature experts and ask all your questions.

Upcoming Events (6.30 to 7.30pm; in the Village Hall):

This Spring the topics will focus on Energy Solutions and Nature:

    • March 27: an Any Questions Session on Home Energy Solutions – come and hear about practical energy solutions from other Villagers and experts in a discussion roundtable format. Come prepared with your questions about Home Insulation, Solar Panels, Home Batteries and Heat Pumps and find out what has been implemented in the Village Hall and planned for St Botolph’s
    •
      • Chat with renewable energy engineers and your neighbours’ on their experiences

We have been asked to run another session on Home Energy solutions with the new Home Energy Plan – making more grants available.

We are running the session as a ‘round table chat’ – with your neighbours, energy experts and the Sustainable Energy Team.

What are the new technologies? How do they work? How much do they cost? How do I implement them? What have other people experienced?

        What are the new grants?

As part of our round table:

      • Alicia and William of Home Energy Innovations – now nominated for an Uttlesford business award

      • Ian and Peter from the Sustainable Energy Team
      • Adrian our Home Energy Champion
      • …… and Hadstock neighbours.
      • This event will be run alongside the Community Pub evening – so come along and have a drink and a chat.

      •

      • April 24: Sustainable Hadstock actions and plans, and a talk from the Saffron Walden Food Bank (what it does, how it works, what it needs), as part of the annual Parish Council review

    • June 26: The Challenges and Successes for Wildlife in Cornwall and lessons for Sustainable Hadstock, by Matt Walpole, Chief Executive Cornwall Wildlife Trust and a Hadstock resident.
    • Wildlife Gardening by Clive Boas from Climate Change Gardening (Friday 27th February Village Hall 6:30-7:30)

Join us for an informative evening to learn more about the waste journey in the district, ambitious recycling targets in Essex, and what happens now none of Uttlesford’s waste goes to landfill. Ben will guide us through what happens to our waste once it is collected, tell us where Uttlesford stands in the recycling charts, and discuss how we can improve our recycling rates. Lynne will cover what is also available in Hadstock

Do come and ask the experts, have a drink and a chat with your neighbours!
